Children playing : A way of life
Since the beginning of mankind, children playing have been part of human
existence. From the time a child is born, you will notice that they will
be trying to reach for stuff and if you happen to pass the particular
stuff to them with an example of a teddy bear, they will start playing
with it and giggling. Playing is just another way for children to
express their understanding not only to themselves but to others too.

It is also a form of communication with the adults and their peers;
it also helps them to grow knowing what is around them and being curious
to discover what they don’t understand. There is a certain period
specifically in the 1960s, toddlers and infants in most house holds used
to play using motor movements, bodily sensations, people and different
other objects. They had consistent schemes by the age of six months
after much practice through trial and error.
They used action schemes such as grasping and pushing in order to
make interesting and funny things happen. Another scheme that they
mostly used in children playing was pushing a ball in order to make it
roll. This experience made them to have pleasure and sensation of
movement. Generally, as the infants grow, most of them will be rolling
the ball then crawl after it to get it. The children tend to come up
with simple schemes which are co-coordinated somehow in order to come up
with a higher sequence of complexity.
Children playing tactics advance as the kids grow and that is how
they now start realizing and being able to differentiate different
sounds. At about twelve months of age, the kids might start making some
funny movements and show some excitement once they hear a common music
on radio or from the T.V. By the time they are one year of age, they
will start getting the awareness of different functions of different
objects.

You will notice the kid will start by putting the spoon in the mouth,
a cup on top of a soccer etc. It is also at this point that they start
imitating the words that you are saying. As the children continue to
grow, they start imitating what they see being done in the kitchen such
as cook imaginary food, wash their teddy bears and at time pretend to be
driving. By doing this you realize that while the children are playing,
they distribute rolls among themselves as they express their feelings
and ideas about the world around them.
By the age of five, the children playing start being curious about
games that have rules. This mostly happens because at this age they have
a more socializing way of thinking which can make them play a game with
adults such as computer games etc. These are types of games that have
rules which must be followed in order to guide the children playing. By
children playing this games which most of the time involve two or more
sides, they are able to learn about competition and about winning and
loosing.
By doing this, children are able to meet intellectual and social
needs which help in preparing them for future challenges as they grow.
In certain games the children playing negotiate the rules with the other
parties which make them realize the art of making friends, socializing,
and reasoning strategies. They also learn on how to be on the defensive
and the offensive sides and the need to always be on the defense. Other
games that help the children playing to be intellectually motivated are
games such as card games.
They also help and encourage awareness of the psychology opponents and
also in mathematics.
